Furniture Storage Service

You may be moving, and require temporary storage mid move. You may be travelling or taking a temporary job post. It could be that you are decorating or simply creating some space at home.

Whatever the reason, if you need to store some of your household goods for a few days, a few weeks or indefinitely you can rely on Hughes Removals to help out.

Modern storage is simple and convenient. We will collect the things you want to store from the comfort of your own home, pack small items into boxes and wrap larger items to stop them getting dusty or damaged. We will then load it into our purpose built, wooden storage containers, seal them then leave for the store.

When the vehicle arrives at the store, the containers will be unloaded and stacked carefully in the warehouse. They will stay there, untouched, awaiting your further instruction. This method of storage reduces handling and therefore minimises any risk of damage.

Self Storage

In addition to offering containerised storage where we collect, we also offer self storage, where the customer brings their effects into our facility. Again all effects are stored into containers which we place near the customers’ own vehicle for ease of loading. Once the loading of the container is complete the container is then sealed until access is required again. Our staff are normally on hand to assist with loading, a small fee may be charged for this service. Access is usually available by arrangement in normal working hours.

Document Storage

Document storage is also available which allows business customers to utilise expensive office space otherwise taken up by filing racks and shelves.
We can offer document storage containers which have shelves inside: each container can accommodate up to 100 archive boxes and the shelving gives easy access.
We offer a collection and delivery service.

Student Storage

We offer student storage and rates can be as little as £5 per week. If you get some friends together and share a container this will reduce the price for you.

Handy Tips

• Place labels on all items you wish to store
• Make sure that any white goods (freezers, fridges, washer etc.) are turned off a few days before they are to be stored so that they are thoroughly dried out. It is also advisable to clean and dry all items, particularly things normally used outside (bikes, garden tools etc.)
• DO NOT store any precious items, such as jewellery, money, deeds or other important documents.
• We do not accept hazardous goods like paint, aerosols, gas bottles or weapons.
• Plants, food and animals cannot be stored. Be sure to make arrangements in advance of your move.
